I hear you, Annette. Holding space for you. Healing is not linear for any of us. It loops and lingers. I think thatβs true for the recovering addict and for those who witnessed loved ones go through it, a type of PTSD of its own. Art is a beautiful way to heal. π
"To reach the right person." That is why I am here. For too many reasons to go into.
Addiction estranged me permanently from my only and very dear uncle, right after my wedding in 2018. It has plagued my bloodline, since always. Since before I knew what it was.
Thank you Annette. I will be reflecting on this calling you have, and on all you have to offer.
I hear you on the 'too many' reasons. I am lugging a multi-pack of reasons (as most do), and in many ways, they are related. Addiction, often, is the result of other causes. The inherited trait or prevalence for addiction lurks in the DNA waiting. Like gasoline waiting for a match. I didn't know about the connection until years later, when talking with someone about my child's addiction and other family members. The ripple effect is devastating. And yes, the calling to do something is tough to wrangle toward action. Something small until clarity for now.

My godparents are medical practitioners and have been telling me exactly the same thing.
That something βsmallβ willl grow. I have no doubt. Of its own accord.
